Stupid Kings (NHL hockey team). They lost today 4-2 to the Boston Bruins. Of course, they had won six in a row and were probably due. For a while I thought I was cursed, in the two games I’ve attended in person the Kings have scored more goals in their own net than the opponents (by a 1-0 margin). After watching them miss two wide open nets tonight and losing by two after watching two of those six wins, I’ve decide that I’m no longer willing to attribute my influence to a bunch of guys skating around on the ice (yes, I know it was dumb in the first place).
It’s funny how fans believe that their actions and activities can alter events happening so far away, whether it’s always sitting in the same place on the couch or wearing the same thing. It’s also funny how people can attach so much meaning and significance to millionaires in special laundry playing games. Yes, this is an often cited crutch of an argument and really doesn’t matter one way or another, like I said, just funny. I have made it a personal conviction (and not recently) to enjoy the good times of being a fan, but not allow a bad game to ruin a perfectly good day. In some ways I’ve chosen to keep the good fan experiences while avoiding the bad.
All that being said, go Kings, I really want to watch the hockey playoffs again!
Also, I have to thank Jess, as I almost forgot to update today!
