Busy day today, with spending the morning at karate cheering on the Black Belt tests, getting sun glasses for tomorrow since I left my last pair at the field last week (stupid day light savings time making it get darker earlier), going with Jess to see Argo (which was excellent),and dinner and hang out with Jess’ parents.
Sunday (11/4) – Softball Game 8: Playoffs start tomorrow and I can’t wait. We rented a field in Simi for the next two weeks so we have lights should we go late (and I’m sure we’ll go late next week). The fences are deeper than Rocky Peak’s field, and I’m hoping that gives us an advantage since it will be harder for the other team to hit home runs and we don’t have many power hitters anyway.
Monday (11/5) – Voting: As you can probably tell, since all of my political themed posts were mostly complaining about the current state of politics, I’m not particularly happy about the system at the moment. I had significant issues with both major party candidates, and there were no third party options that fit my beliefs (not to mention being essentially a vote black hole). I think our two party system is beyond broken, and fear unless we come up with something else, things are going to become too divided.
Tuesday (11/6) – Long Day: It seemed like they were all long days this week. Thankfully there is a long weekend to follow.
Wednesday (11/7) – Lazy II: Oh, foolish, foolish me, I’ve think I’ve pretty well documented over the next couple posts after this one how I know I make the same mistakes over and over, and then proceed to make the same mistakes again. . .
Thursday (11/8) – Pacing: Because my quads are still sore from the workout on Thursday. I actually kind of appreciate the pain, as I could still move, but it reminded me of what I did wrong and what I tried to do right. I know I’ve complained a lot recently, but I’d still rather be able to do all this and experience some pain rather than not being able to do it at all.
Friday (11/9) – Rest II: All that said, I’m definitely looking forward to a little extra rest on Monday. I’m sure I’ll say it then, but there’s no harm in starting now: Thanks to all the Veterans who have served our country and all those who are currently serving. I wish nothing but the best for those who have and are protecting our country and carrying out their duty.
