Okay, note to self: in the future, do not schedule any Half-Marathons during Softball season (sub-note: do not schedule any more Half-Marathons period . . . at least for a while).
Yes, this Sunday I get to run through the streets of L.A. (okay, most likely run-walk, my training hasn’t been all that great, it’s been more of the cross-training variety). I would like all these races more if they didn’t start so early, but then I would hate all these races more because they would be too hot. So I guess you take what you get.
The course starts and ends at Staples Center/L.A. Live/The Convention Center and then does an interesting out and back and out the other way and back route that I’ve never really seen before. I have to go pick up my bib on Friday or Saturday, be out there early Sunday, and try to finish before 11 so I have some time to enjoy the festivities before heading back to a softball game at 1. Yup, I’m a stud (or was it I’m stupid? I always forget the pi . . . mmm, pie . . . wait, what was I talking about?).
Like I said up top (sort of), this will probably be my last Half-Marathon for a while. I may come back to them after my Marathon or two next year, but I think I may settle into the 5 to 10K range for a while (but perhaps throw in some obstacles). I am looking forward to running through the streets of L.A. and hearing some of the bands on the route.
