With The Amazing Spider-man coming out this week, we are officially 2/3rds of the way through the major superhero movies this summer (Avengers, Spider-man, and Dark Knight Rises). Of course, being a major Batman fan, the one I am most looking forward to is the Dark Knight. I’ve mentioned how much I enjoyed Avengers, and I’ll go see Spider-man (probably in 3D, looks like it will be worth it), but I’m truly excited to go see the conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s trilogy. Less than a month to go now for that one.
As for Spider-man, I’m disappointed they felt the need to reboot everything (honestly, I feel that I’ve seen so many interpretations of the Spider-man origin that I could recite it upside down and backwards), although the direction they’ve taken the franchise does look promising. In fact, I think I’m okay with reboots in general as long as it really condenses the origin. We’ve seen it, we know it, just give us what changed.
After Dark Knight Rises it will be back to waiting for the next crop of Marvel movies and dreading the next DC movie (whatever that may be). Hopefully DC can turn it around on the movie front, because, outside of Batman, the movies they’ve been putting out (::cough:: Green Lantern ::cough:: Jonah Hex ::cough:: – yes, I’ve seen them both) have been terrible.

Hey, I saw Green Lantern with dad a few weeks ago and we didn’t think it was that bad.
